ACE Project Space

Bring your business ideas to life.

The ACE Project Space is an interactive workspace where students, entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations and corporations collaborate to bring unique ideas to life. With the guidance of experienced staff and faculty, students of the Business Information Technology, Business Technology Management, Data Science and Machine Learning, and Information Security programs work with industry clients to create prototypes, products and services that can be introduced to the market.

Who We Are

The ACE Project Space is a collaborative co-working and research space where everybody is encouraged to share ideas and discuss their experiences. Working together, all participants at the space learn about project delivery from conceptualization and requirements gathering to testing and implementation.

Students

If you are enrolled in one of the Business Information Technology, Business Technology Management and Information Security programs and completed your third term of study, you may be eligible to work in the ACE Project Space as part of your Industry Project term. If you are accepted in the space, you will earn academic credit for your Industry Project term as your work on a faculty-approved project.

As an ACE Project Space student, you can expect to take charge of your learning by exploring emerging technologies, thinking outside of the box and continually innovating. During the project term, gain work experience by collaborating with teammates and entrepreneurs-in-residence or external clients to solve real business problems and develop new products or services. In this project-based learning environment, the opportunity to learn new technologies, languages, frameworks and methodologies is extensive. There are no limitations on moving beyond your acquired skill set as we encourage you to find the best solutions for your projects.

“The project had me interested as I was able to relate on a personal level to what the clients were trying to achieve. We received an ample amount of help from the ACE Project Space staff and instructors throughout the project. This is something I appreciate very much. The clients consisted of a 6-person panel and every single one of them were very clear on what they wanted implemented on the application, as well as being very understanding when it came to any of their ideas getting shelved.  Overall, I have had a pleasant experience with this project and with all parties involved.”

– Wynn Landagan, Business Information Technology Graduate

Entrepreneurs-in-Residence

Are you a budding entrepreneur with a wealth of innovative ideas, but short on staff, funding and working space? The ACE Project Space provides the perfect environment to help entrepreneurs who are in the early stages of their business development that require a technology-related solution, product or prototype. By working with our students, faculty and staff, sharing experiences and experimenting with new concepts, we can help you turn your ideas into reality. Our entrepreneurs-in-residence are provided with office space, Internet connectivity, access to meeting rooms and a team of students dedicated to your venture.

“We would first of all like to thank [the ACE Project Space] and RRC Polytech for the significant contributions to our company, and the success we’ve come to realize. The technology built by your students has given us an edge over our competitors, and has enabled us to branch out across Canada.”

– Tyler Bergen, Business Development Manager, Go Oil

External Industry Clients

In addition to working with entrepreneurs-in-residence, we work on technology projects with other startups, non-profit organizations, corporations of any size and government. The ACE Project Space is well-suited to organizations looking to cost-effectively experiment with new ideas that leverage technology. Projects that are of special interest to the community are always welcomed at the ACE Project Space.

“We’ve really enjoyed this past semester working with the ACE team!  I want to take a second to let you know that the students we were paired with were phenomenal!  All four had a great attitude, were motivated and worked hard. I think they got a lot out of the term – and we did as well! We owe you a huge thank you. You’ve helped us bring our project to life!”

– Noah Palansky, CEO and Co-Founder, TaiV

Partners and Supporters

Our partners and supporters are the lifeblood of the ACE Project Space, enabling students, entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, businesses, faculty and staff to work on innovative and successful technology projects that wouldn’t be possible without their support. We are always looking for partners and supporters to enhance the ACE Project Space and bring about more innovation in our community.
